The money is yours before it's anywhere near us.
The payment is made to your own Stripe account — not to a balance we hold for you, not into a pool we pay out of later. Your business is the merchant on the transaction, so your name is what your customer sees on their statement.
You're never waiting on us to be paid, because we were never in the way.
We never see a card number.
The moment a customer pays, they're on a payment page run by Stripe. The card details go to Stripe and only to Stripe. There is nowhere in our system a card number could be written down.
What we take, plainly.
Two per cent of what you sell through your store, and the monthly price for running everything else.
Stripe charges its own processing fee on each payment, the same as it would if you'd set this up yourself. That fee is Stripe's, not ours, and it's separate from our 2%.
Your shoppers don't have to hand over their details.
Buying doesn't require an account — no sign-up, no password, no profile. Ordinary purchases put no personal information into your site at all; what the customer told Stripe stays with Stripe.
That's fewer people abandoning a checkout, and one less pile of other people's data for you to be responsible for.
Disconnecting, and the part people miss.
You connect your Stripe account yourself, and it stays your account throughout — we're never an owner of it, only a connected application.
If you disconnect us, do it from your own Stripe dashboard as well as from ours. That's the copy that actually governs access, and we'd rather tell you than let you assume one click covers it.
